Dearest Jennie
No mail from the East for ten days past. I understand that the Road East is open and we have assurance that the train will be through tomorrow or Sunday. I might as well be in the mts as here as far as being in communication with Eastern friends and business oclutions with New York is conserned.
You think Joliet and vicinity is the worst place in the world for mail but if you were here the past week I think you would change your views on that question and give Omaha the preference. I took dinner with Mrs Lacy day before yesterday. Mr & Mrs McCormick and about ten other guests were there. We spent a very pleasant evening all inqured anxiously for you and want you to return here as soon as the mud dries up.
