Pitchfork Ranch former owner manager Jack Turnell, talking as he is driving, about how biologists worked to find ferrets on his ranch in 1982, and about how the ferrets were almost wiped out by distemper and how that was handled. He also talks about how the plague killed the ferret's food, prairie dogs. Turnell says in 3 years they lost 30 thousand prairie dogs. He tells about how the ferrets were trapped, taken away, and bred to current numbers. He also remembers the black footed ferret advisory team
