Jack Turnell is standing in the same area where the ferrets were found on the Pitchfork Ranch in 1982. He gives his name and title. Interview with Jack Turnell about what happened when they found ferrets on his ranch, and how he felt about it at the time. He tells about how Hogg's dog, Shep found the ferret, then, "All Hell broke loose". Turnell says media, everyone descended on his ranch. He tells about how they learned to find ferrets near the prairie dogs. He describes how the ferrets numbers started going down in 1985, and how they were dying of distemper; and he gives Game and Fish credit for saving them. He talks about private, state, federal cooperative approach to save the ferret, and still allow grazing, oil development, etc....then he talks about how that kind of approach might work for wolves and grizzlies. Turnell talks about how turned down buyers for his ranch, until they could get buyers willing to put conservation easements on the Pitchfork.
