NRDC sponsored aerial flight over Wind River Mountains showing hundreds of thousands of trees dead or dying from pine beetle kill. This part of the aerial viewing shows light green patches. We were told those are new growth from clear cuts from the 1980s. More aerial shots of dead and dying trees. Many of these may be white bark pine, especially the ones near the top of the mountains, and in front of rock faces. Hundreds of thousands of more beetle killed trees. Valley area with the Wind River flowing through it. Foothills near Dubois with homes built in the forest. There is much beetle kill here, too.
