Interview with Jesse Logan, a retired U.S. Forest Service entomologist, who was project leader for the mountain pine beetle project in Logan, Utah. Logan has a PhD. This is his microphone test and ID. Dr. Logan talks about the trend he has seen, and calls it heart breaking. He talks about how the White Bark Pine has not evolved with the pine beetle, because it was too harsh and too cold for the pine beetle. He says the white bark pine trees are sitting ducks because they have not developed a defense system against the pine beetle. He says if you clear but an entire forest, it might have stopped beetles, but in reality, there is nothing that could have stopped the huge beetle kills. He talks about his papers, which predicted the epidemics as a result of global warming. HE SAYS IT IS ABSOLUTELY TEMERATURE DRIVEN.
