Chamber President Gene Bryan speaks on behalf of the Wyoming Wildlife Trust Fund. He says he and his wife are in Cody because of the wildlife and the city's adjacency to Yellowstone National Park. He says the Chamber and the Cody Economic Development Council are interested in the initiative because ""quality of life"" is a good business attractant. Cody Bryan quotes a 2002 Wyoming Travel and Tourism Survey, which found that two thirds of the visitors stated their trip purpose was to view wildlife they had never seen. 81% said they viewed our mountains as an integral activity during their visit. 76% said visiting wilderness areas, or at least knowing that they were there was important to them. 51% said the opportunity to view our natural environment was an important activity. Bryan says that tells the department of tourism that wild life and wild lands are important to our economy. Bryan says that is why the Tourism Board and several other important organizations are in support of the trust fund.
