Simpson says his client was gored in the back under the ribs, and gored again in the rump. He says a French man was killed by a bison in the Park earlier in the 80's. Simpson says there needs to be a warning about bison to visitors, since they seem to be docile. Simpson details a number of gorings in 1984 and 1985. He says you can't have a nanny state or a nanny park, and Yellowstone is a wilderness area. He says people don't understand what it is like to be around wild animals, and how predictable they can be. He says in his case, the Park Service could have done a beter job with signage and hand outs to visitors about the dangers from bison. He says the judge found his client was more negligent than the Park Service, but that the Park Service was negligent, as well.
