Perrotti says he was at home when the fire started on August 2 around 1 p.m. He says he was on his backhoe, and turned around and the fire was coming straight at him. He says he grabbed his shovel, but it was burning so hard, so fast. He says he ran up to his house, and before he could get his water hose turned on, the fire had already gone past the house. He says his house didn't burn because he didn't have as much vegetation around the building. He says there's no one living in the house that burned. He says it is quite an aerial show with the helicopters and the planes. He says the firefighters who came did a great job. He says they had a very hot grass fire, very hot and very fast, when it is windy like today.
