Yellowstone spokesperson Morgan Warthin says they are asking the visitors to take Yellowstone pledge. She says it is a personal promise that we ask visitors to take. It is having them be aware of how they can protect themselves and protect the park. She says it is a series of statements they will pledge to uphold, tell a friend, and protect the park. She says the Yellowstone pledge was initiated online. She says she asks visitors to take photos of positive behavior. She says in 2016, they were seeing a lot of evidence of people being off the boardwalks through the photos. She says they've included it in the newspaper. She says we realize how effective social media is, so we ask people to use the social media to help. She says one of the elements of the pledge is to take photos of violations that they see. She says we are asking them to share them with a park ranger, or call 911, or email them us. We ask ultimately that they share it with a ranger. She says it was hard in 2016 after seeing instance, after instance of people not protecting themselves, and even having deaths, it was hard.
